Procedure for Expulsion

50. (a) The procedure for expulsion of a Member shall be as prescribed under Section 35 of the Act and Rule 28 of the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Rules, 1961. (b) The Committee shall, before recommending expulsion, give the Member a reasonable opportunity of being heard. (c) The expulsion shall require the approval of the General Body by a resolution passed by a majority of not less than three-fourths of the Members present and voting. (d) The resolution for expulsion shall be forwarded to the Registrar for approval. The expulsion shall take effect from the date of the Registrar's approval. (e) The Committee may also recommend forfeiture of the expelled Member's shares, subject to the provisions of the Act.
