Adoption required once notified: under the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, a model bye-law does not automatically bind a society. Once these bye-laws are officially notified, each society must separately adopt them by passing a resolution in its General Body Meeting (GBM) — until your society's GBM passes that resolution, your existing (2014) bye-laws continue to apply.
