What changed in the law
When the MCS Act, the Rules, the election rules or the model bye-laws move — or a decision of the High Court or the Supreme Court changes how a society must act — it is written here. You do not have to have bought anything to read it.
How this works with the books
Every book carries, on its first page, the date its law was checked. That date and this page together tell you exactly what your copy is current to. The edition you bought stays yours and stays available to re-download. When enough has changed, a book is rebuilt as a new edition — a separate edition, and a separate purchase. We do not promise a free replacement copy; we would rather say so plainly than promise one and withdraw it later.

The Last Kindness — Edition 1.0 published
Death, wills and succession for a flat in a Maharashtra co-operative housing society: the first ninety days, who inherits where there is no will, the will itself, probate and the certificates, and thirty formats with eight committee resolutions. Every provision and authority in it was verified against the texts as on 10 September 2026.
- Note
Every edition now ends with the full catalogue, and carries a link to this page
All four books close with a list of every edition we publish, and each carries a QR code on its licence page that opens this log — so a reader holding a printed copy can check what has changed since the date on its first page without typing anything. The licence wording was also rewritten at the same time: your copy stays yours and stays downloadable, law changes are published here free, and a revised edition is a separate purchase rather than a free replacement.

The Secretary's Shield and सचिवाचे कवच — Edition 1.0 published
The secretary’s year in order, ten route maps, the refusals a committee may and may not make, and 88 formats with 40 resolutions — in separate English and Marathi editions, each current to the law as on 10 September 2026. Where an official Marathi text exists it is quoted verbatim; provisions with no official Marathi text are marked as renderings of the English.

AGM Toolkit 2026 — Edition 1.0 published
The whole annual general meeting, start to finish, in separate Marathi and English editions: the dates that govern it, the notice and agenda, the minutes, the budget, Form O, the annual returns and the handover — current to the Amendment Rules 2026.
- Note
The 2026 model bye-laws are still awaited
The 2014 model bye-laws remain the ones in force. A 2026 set is expected to replace them and has not been notified. Where the Amendment Rules 2026 already override a bye-law — interest at 12%, the entrance fee, the committee’s spending ceiling, quorum — our books follow the Rules and flag the difference. When the new bye-laws are notified, what changed will be written here first, and the books will be rebuilt as new editions.
Nothing here is legal advice on your own matter. If you want to be told when something moves, ask for the update note when you claim your formats at societysewa.in/formats, or see the handbooks at Publications.
