Procedure for Receipt, Scrutiny and Disposal of Applications

(a) Every application under these Bye-laws shall be submitted to the Secretary in the prescribed form or in writing, as applicable.

(b) The Secretary shall acknowledge receipt of every application on the same day or within 3 days from the date of receipt.

(c) The Secretary shall scrutinize the application within 7 days from the date of receipt.

(d) Where the application is incomplete or any document is deficient, the Secretary shall communicate the deficiencies in writing within 7 days from the date of scrutiny, and the applicant shall comply within 15 days from the date of such communication.

(e) Upon receipt of a complete application, the Secretary shall place the same before the next meeting of the Committee or the General Body, as the case may be, which shall be held within 30 days from the date of receipt of the complete application.

(f) The Committee or the General Body, as the case may be, shall decide the application within 60 days from the date of receipt of the complete application.

(g) The Secretary shall communicate the decision to the applicant within 7 days from the date of such decision.

(h) Where any application is rejected, the reasons for such rejection shall be recorded in the minutes and communicated in writing to the applicant.

(i) In case of applications for Membership, if the decision is not communicated within 3 months from the date of receipt, the applicant shall be deemed to have been admitted as a Member in accordance with section 22(2) of the Act.

(j) The procedure under this Bye-law shall apply uniformly to all applications under these Bye-laws unless specifically provided otherwise.
