Election of the Committee
(a) The election of all the Members of the Committee shall be held once in every five years, before the expiry of its term, in accordance with the provisions of Section 73CB of the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1960 and the Rules and procedure framed thereunder.
(b) It shall be the duty of the Committee to conduct the election of the Society where the number of members is 250 or less, in accordance with the procedure prescribed for 'E' Type Societies under Rules 76A to 76R. In the case of societies having more than 250 members, the Committee shall intimate the State Co-operative Election Authority before Six months of the expiry of its term and submit information in Form E1, E2 and E3 for conducting the election. If the Committee fails to take necessary steps for conducting the election before expiry of its term, the Members of the Committee shall cease to hold office on expiry of the term and action shall be taken by the Registrar under Section 77A of the Act.
